JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Vice President Controller Finance at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PT PPN), Nurul Amalia Lubis, explained that the sales of non-subsidised diesel under the supervision of the defendant and former President Director of PT PPN, Riva Siahaan, were not loss-making; in fact, sales during Riva’s era recorded profits.

“We monitor profitability per product, and there was no loss in the Industrial Marine and Fuel Business (IMFB). This means all sales were above the costs we incurred,” Nurul stated during the hearing at the Jakarta High Court on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

Even without using a bottom price element, this Pertamina subsidiary still recorded profits.

“In finance, we do not look at what the bottom price is like, but at the real price we sell to customers, which we calculate as our revenue,” Nurul said.

In this appeal case examination hearing, Nurul outlined the profits received by PT PPN each year after Riva took office.

In 2022, profits were recorded at 1.4 billion US dollars.

Then, in 2023, PT PPN recorded profits of 1.3 billion US dollars.

“In the audited 2024, the gross profit was 920 million US dollars, and in the audited 2025, the gross profit was 781 million US dollars,” Nurul explained.

Today, the panel of judges at the Jakarta High Court began examining the appeal case filed by Riva.

“In the first-instance Corruption Court, there was an appeal, and you, through your legal counsel, filed an appeal, which is being re-examined today,” said Chief Judge Budi Susilo when opening the hearing at the Jakarta High Court on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

Before examining the witness, the high court panel emphasised that the appeal-level examination is not a repetition of matters already examined at the first-instance court.

Instead, it will focus on new matters, such as those not previously examined.

Judge Budi then read out the conclusions from Riva’s appeal memorandum. At least, there are three matters requested to be examined at the appeal level.
