Appeal to Aceh separatists

The Indonesian government faces a delicate and complex
situation in handling post-tsunami problems in Aceh. While the
government's official agency for natural disasters along with the
help of volunteers are moving rubble and dead bodies, the problem
posed by the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) remains.

Separatist rebels operating under GAM are likely to take this
opportunity to get food and other commodities, thereby further
consolidating their movement after many of their relatives and
support network were wiped out by the tidal waves.

Therefore, I would like to appeal to GAM followers to
immediately return to the fold of the Republic of Indonesia. At a
time like this, when the region has just been devastated by a
terrible catastrophe, they should end the long conflict and join
hands to rebuild the province for future generations.
