JAKARTA — Danantara Indonesia has outlined efforts to strengthen the quality of PLN’s services for the public and businesses. In particular, it is taking strategic steps in response to power supply disruptions in the Batam area and says PLN Batam will be placed directly under its authority.

“On behalf of Danantara Indonesia, we apologise to all PLN Batam customers for the inconvenience caused by the power supply disruption on 12 October 2026. We understand the difficulties experienced by the public and businesses. Customers’ needs are our main concern, and we are committed to supporting PLN Batam in providing better services,” Danantara Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria said on Wednesday (14 October 2026).

Improving PLN Batam’s service quality is part of Danantara Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the sustainable transformation of the PLN Group. The company’s development is intended to improve supply reliability and service convenience, as well as its readiness to meet customers’ changing needs.

“We see opportunities for PLN Batam to continue growing alongside the public and businesses. By developing the company’s capacity and improving service quality, we want PLN Batam to play an increasingly important role in supporting customers’ needs and the region’s progress,” Dony said.

As part of its business model, PLN Batam operates independently and does not receive subsidies or compensation from the government. The company has the potential to continue growing as Batam is one of the drivers of Indonesia’s economy and an investment destination.

As part of this transformation and business development strategy, PLN Batam will henceforth report directly to Danantara Indonesia. The move is intended to support the company’s potential, improve electricity services and strengthen Batam’s appeal to investors.

Danantara Indonesia will also refresh PLN’s management as part of efforts to improve public services. The move is expected to strengthen the PLN Group’s performance and enable it to deliver more reliable electricity services that respond to the needs of the public and businesses.

“Serving the public is our priority in strengthening the PLN Group. Through this management refresh, we want to ensure that people experience improved services, from supply reliability to responsiveness to customer needs. We also want PLN to be better prepared to support business activity and economic growth throughout Indonesia,” Dony said.
