Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) is set to formulate a national economic resilience agenda at its 35th National Working and Consultative Meeting (Rakerkonas), to be held in Makassar, South Sulawesi, from 3–5 August 2026.

Apindo Chairwoman Shinta W. Kamdani told a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday that the move comes in response to the dual challenges facing national economic resilience, driven by geopolitical turmoil and global trade fragmentation, as well as domestic structural problems.

“Apindo believes that economic challenges cannot be answered by diagnosis alone. The business community needs policy certainty, end-to-end resolution of obstacles, and collaboration focused on implementing solutions,” Shinta said.

Ronald Walla, Head of Apindo’s SME Division and Chair of the Strategic Programmes Working Group, said the meeting will serve as a strategic forum to consolidate the real problems faced by businesses at both the national and regional levels, build dialogue with the government, and translate these into implementable policy recommendations and work programmes.

Meanwhile, Apindo Deputy Chairman Sanny Iskandar outlined seven strategic programmes that the association has carried out over the past year.

These seven strategic programmes comprise an employment agenda, policy advocacy, a Debottlenecking Task Force for Business Obstacles, and an agenda for the utilisation of international trade agreements.

Further programmes include the Apindo Investment Unit, which connects investors with regional potential; the Apindo Family Business Network; and flagship initiatives such as Apindo UMKM Merdeka, the Teaching Entrepreneurs Movement, and GAS-KIPAS Stunting.

“These achievements will be presented to all Provincial Boards for open evaluation. The Rakerkonas is not a ceremonial forum, but a space for accountability and sharpening the direction of our work going forward,” Sanny said.

Through the 35th Rakerkonas, Sanny continued, Apindo affirms that national economic resilience is not solely the government’s responsibility, but the result of collective synergy between the state, the business community, workers, academics, and all stakeholders.

“The recommendations from the Apindo Rakerkonas will be submitted to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, as strategic input to strengthen the direction of national economic policy,” he said.
