API-IMA Calls for Clarity on Strategic Natural Resources Export Regulations During Transition
JAKARTA, Investortrust.id - The Indonesian Mining Association (API-IMA) has highlighted the need for clearer guidelines during the transition of policies governing the export of strategic natural resources to ensure business sustainability and market stability. API-IMA Executive Director Sari Esayanti stated that clear regulations are necessary to prevent disruptions to ongoing company negotiations due to policy changes. “Clarity is required to ensure critical company negotiations can proceed smoothly for business continuity and market stability,” Esayanti said in Jakarta on Monday (25 May 2026). According to API-IMA, the mining industry is a vital sector supporting the national economy and requires regulatory certainty, particularly in reporting and export governance. The association emphasises the importance of the Directorate General of Minerals and Coal under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) being involved in policy implementation to ensure a smooth transition and avoid on-the-ground uncertainty. Furthermore, API-IMA stresses the importance of respecting long-term and short-term sales contracts previously agreed upon by industry players. Industry players, the association added, heavily rely on legal certainty and policy stability to conduct business operations, especially amid ongoing global commodity market dynamics.
