APHI and New Forests Strengthen Dialogue to Support Investment in Sustainable Forest Management

APHI and New Forests are strengthening dialogue to support investment in sustainable forest management. On the same occasion, New Forests Director of Investments (Asia) Sanjiv Louis stated that Indonesia has great potential to continue strengthening sustainable forest and landscape management through collaboration between the government, the private sector, financial institutions, and the community. According to him, natural resource management that is able to balance economic, social, and environmental aspects will be an important factor in supporting green economic growth and climate resilience in the future. “We see that Indonesia has great opportunities to develop various sustainable forest management and land use initiatives. Strong collaboration between business actors, the government, and development partners can support increased landscape productivity, protection of environmental values, as well as the creation of long-term benefits for the community,” said Sanjiv Louis. He added that New Forests has experience in sustainable investment management, innovative financing, and developing partnerships that support responsible natural resource management. According to him, the dialogue with APHI is an important step for exchanging information and exploring various cooperation opportunities that can support sustainable forest management as well as sustainable natural resource-based economic development in Indonesia. The results of this discussion agreed that communication and information exchange need to be continuously strengthened to identify various collaboration opportunities that can support investment in sustainable forest management and ecosystem restoration, increase the economic value of the forestry sector, as well as contribute to the sustainable development agenda and global climate action.
