TOKYO (AFP): A document to be adopted at an informal summit of
the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum this year
seeks to ease restrictions on foreign investment in the region, a
daily said here Saturday.
The document, drafted by Australia and shown to APEC members,
stresses that investment is vital for employment and economic
growth in the Asia-Pacific region, the Yomiuri Shimbun said.
The 1994 informal APEC summit will be held in Indonesia in
November. A similar summit was held in Seattle last November.
