APDESI Inauguration: Ministry of Home Affairs Stresses Importance of Working for the People
Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs Tomsi Tohir has emphasised the importance of a work orientation focused on the interests of the public. He delivered the remarks at the Inauguration and National Working Meeting of the Central Executive Board of the Association of Village Governments Across Indonesia (APDESI) for the 2026-2031 period.
In his address, Tomsi expressed hope that the newly inaugurated board would carry out its mandate with full responsibility and continue to strengthen synergy with relevant ministries and institutions. He also urged that the organisation’s energy be focused on matters that genuinely have an impact on village communities.
Conversely, he called on the board members not to become trapped in unproductive communication dynamics and non-substantive issues.
“These sorts of things should gradually be left behind. We should try to truly make a good contribution to our communities,” Tomsi said in a written statement on Monday (16 February 2026).
Tomsi also congratulated all newly inaugurated members of the APDESI Central Executive Board.
“May you carry out this mandate well, and our presence here together with all other ministries will be very supportive. And once again, what must be thought about is the people,” he concluded.
Also in attendance were Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto, Deputy Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Ahmad Riza Patria, Secretary General of the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Taufik Madjid, APDESI Central Executive Board General Chairman Junaedhi Mulyono, and members of the APDESI Central Executive Board for the 2026-2031 period.
