Apartment Fire in Tanah Abang Triggers Resident Evacuation

A fire at an apartment in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, has triggered the evacuation of residents. The fire originated on the fifth floor, and emergency services are currently conducting cooling operations.

Firefighters evacuated several residents during the blaze in the Tanah Abang area, Jakarta, on Friday (4/9/2026). The fire occurred at an apartment located on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

According to information from the scene, the fire point was located on the fifth floor of the apartment. Thick smoke prompted officers to move quickly to evacuate residents from within the building.

Firefighters are continuing the evacuation process and ensuring that conditions inside the apartment remain safe. A number of residents were directed to exit the building while the handling process was underway.

As of Friday afternoon, officers were still performing cooling processes at the location to ensure there are no remaining fire points that could potentially trigger a re-ignition. The cause of the fire and the total number of evacuated residents are still being handled by the authorities.
