AP manages more airports
BANDUNG, West Java (JP): PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II, a state- owned firm currently managing five airports, will manage five other airports in Sumatra and Java.
Director General of Air Transportation Zainuddin Sikado, who symbolically handed over management of the airports to Angkasa Pura II's president Chusjairi in a ceremony on Wednesday, said the company is assigned to manage the Simpang Tiga airport and the Center of Aviation Operation in Pekan Baru, Riau, the Husein Sastranegara airport in Bandung, West Java, the Blang Bintang airport in Banda Aceh, Aceh and the Tabing in Padang, West Sumatra.
The company also operates the Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma airports in Jakarta, the Badaruddin airport in Palembang, South Sumatra, the Supadio airport in Pontianak, West Kalimantan and the Polonia airport in Medan, North Sumatra.
Chusjairi said the total assets of the airports managed by Angkasa Pura II are estimated at Rp 1.8 trillion.
"This year we expect a profit of Rp 75 billion, 25 percent higher than the Rp 60 billion targeted," he said, adding that in 1995 the profit is likely to increase to Rp 92 billion.
Sikado said the government currently controls 143 airports throughout the country.
Nine other airports are managed by PT Angkasa Pura I. (pet/icn)
