BANDUNG, West Java (JP): PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II, a state-
owned firm currently managing five airports, will manage five
other airports in Sumatra and Java.

Director General of Air Transportation Zainuddin Sikado, who
symbolically handed over management of the airports to Angkasa
Pura II's president Chusjairi in a ceremony on Wednesday, said
the company is assigned to manage the Simpang Tiga airport and
the Center of Aviation Operation in Pekan Baru, Riau, the Husein
Sastranegara airport in Bandung, West Java, the Blang Bintang
airport in Banda Aceh, Aceh and the Tabing in Padang, West
Sumatra.

The company also operates the Soekarno-Hatta and Halim
Perdanakusuma airports in Jakarta, the Badaruddin airport in
Palembang, South Sumatra, the Supadio airport in Pontianak, West
Kalimantan and the Polonia airport in Medan, North Sumatra.

Chusjairi said the total assets of the airports managed by
Angkasa Pura II are estimated at Rp 1.8 trillion.

"This year we expect a profit of Rp 75 billion, 25 percent
higher than the Rp 60 billion targeted," he said, adding that in
1995 the profit is likely to increase to Rp 92 billion.

Sikado said the government currently controls 143 airports
throughout the country.
