ANZ Panin debt collectors' threats
ANZ Panin debt collectors' threats
My father and another relative have received improper
treatment including rude remarks and threats from an ANZ Panin
debt collector who calls himself Alex Lebang for the last few
years, because the relative owes Rp 1.3 million on his credit
card to the bank.
In fact, my ailing father and myself have no debts with the
bank, and despite my report to ANZ Panin management, the threats
have continued.
I have learned from the bank's sources and the complaints
voiced by other victims in the media that such treatment
constitutes a tactic of terror applied by ANZ Panin debt
collectors.
In order to accommodate the grievances of all victims, I have
opened an email address, korban_anzpanin@yahoo.com, and plan to
submit the case to the ANZ headquarters in Australia and New
Zealand, besides the Indonesian Consumer Institute, Bank
Indonesia, the embassies of Australia and New Zealand, the
banking ombudsman, the capital market agencies of Indonesia and
the two countries as well as the police and prosecutor's office.
This practice of ANZ Panin must be stopped to prevent the
rising number of victims and the bank should immediately
apologize while guaranteeing that the practice will not recur.
