Anyer–Carita–Cinangka Village Tourism to Be Developed as a Tourism Magnet

The Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendes PDT) continues to strengthen the development of village-based tourism. One of its latest steps is pushing the development of the Village Tourism Programme in the Anyer–Carita–Cinangka area in Banten, which possesses substantial natural and cultural tourism potential. The Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, Yandri Susanto, said the programme would act as a driver to enhance the appeal of tourist destinations along the Banten coast. He stated this while attending the opening of the Movenpick Resort Carita in Carita District, Serang Regency, on Sunday 17 May 2026. Furthermore, Yandri emphasised that the development of village tourism in the area would be carried out through collaboration between the communities and the hotel sector, including Movenpick Resort Carita. One form of collaboration to be developed is the creation of integrated tour packages that combine accommodation, beach tourism, and cultural activities in nearby villages. Yandri also hopes that the presence of Movenpick Resort Carita will act as a catalyst for empowering nearby communities. Not only through job absorption but also through various capacity-building programmes and support for micro local enterprises. He is optimistic that the hotel’s presence will boost tourist numbers visiting the Anyer–Carita–Cinangka area, especially as the facilities offered are regarded as meeting the needs of modern tourism. As visitor flows rise, the local revenue (PAD) for Banten Province and Serang Regency is also expected to rise. The Governor of Banten, Andra Soni, also praised the steps by investors in continuing to develop the province’s tourism sector. He said that investments such as the Movenpick Resort Carita are vital to strengthening the Anyer–Carita area as a Strategic Tourism Area.
