Anwar Usman Hopes His Replacement at the MK Can Bring Blessings and Wisdom for the Constitution
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Former Constitutional Court (MK) Justice Anwar Usman expressed hopes for his replacement to bring wisdom and blessings to the Constitution and the Indonesian nation.
Anwar conveyed this as he was about to attend the oath-taking ceremony for the MK Justice replacing him at the Palace, Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026).
“Yes, hopefully bringing wisdom and blessings to the Constitutional Court and to the country, of course, the nation and state,” said Anwar at the Palace Complex.
Regarding the MK Justice replacing him, he hoped they would resolve every case in accordance with the constitutional mandate alone.
“Then, third, the dissolution of political parties. Fourth, the resolution of election result cases,” he continued.
Anwar admitted he was invited and thus attended the Palace to witness the oath-reading process for the new MK Justice.
According to him, the President of the Republic of Indonesia will hold three agendas in the afternoon at the Palace.
First, witnessing the oath of the MK Justice, the oath of Ombudsman members, and the appointment of ambassadors.
“There are three. Constitutional justice, ombudsman, and ambassadors. I don’t know which countries,” he said.
The Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Services, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, stated that Prabowo would also appoint several ambassadors at the same event.
“Today we were invited to the Palace to attend the inauguration of the Constitutional Court Justice, as well as members of the Republic of Indonesia Ombudsman, and the appointment of several new Ambassadors,” said Yusril at the Presidential Palace Complex on Friday.
Yusril mentioned that the oath-taking and inauguration event would take place at 13:30 WIB.
In addition, Vice Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Services Otto Hasibuan, Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Djamari Chaniago, and Deputy Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Lodewijk were also present.
