Anwar Usman Faints After Retirement Ceremony at Constitutional Court Building

JAKARTA - Anwar Usman fainted after attending the retirement ceremony in the Constitutional Court (MK) courtroom, Central Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026). Observations on the scene showed that Anwar completed the entire retirement procession. After that, he bid farewell to the active judges and walked towards the exit. The judges nearby immediately provided assistance. Anwar was then carried together to the Constitutional Court waiting room to receive medical treatment from a doctor. “Alhamdulillah, I have ended my duties, leaving this building with a relieved heart. I shed tears earlier not because of anything, because of so many joys and sorrows that I experienced,” Anwar said. “I am leaving the court, it’s like a newborn baby entering the world. Like a blank sheet of paper with no records at all,” he continued.
