Jakarta (ANTARA) - South Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar has entrusted a message to all civil servants and staff to continue upholding community spirit as he steps down from his role at the South Jakarta City Administration (Pemkot Jaksel).

“Whatever good I have planted, please continue it. Always maintain unity, the spirit of mutual cooperation, including partnerships with media colleagues,” said Anwar at the South Jakarta Mayor’s Office on Friday.

Facing thousands of civil servants and PPSU staff, Anwar expressed gratitude for the cooperation during his leadership of the area.

“My dear colleagues, today marks my final step among the Pemkot Jakarta Selatan family as mayor,” Anwar said.

He stated that South Jakarta was not just a workplace but had become his home and family during his tenure as mayor.

“For me, South Jakarta is not merely a place to work and serve, but a home. Everyone here is like family,” he added.

He said he would always cherish the experiences and camaraderie built during his service in South Jakarta.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Deputy Mayor Ali Murtadho expressed missing Anwar, whom he considered not just a leader but also a role model for the city administration.

“Pak Anwar is more than just a leader. He is a parent, senior, and brother to us. He has imparted many examples and knowledge,” Ali said.

Previously, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor Rano Karno inaugurated 11 senior officials in a rotation and promotion at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, held at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday, 15 April.

The effective periods of the officials’ terms vary, starting from the inauguration date, 1 June 2026, to 1 August 2026, with one awaiting appointment as a principal functional officer.

Two of them are Syafrin Liputo, who becomes South Jakarta Mayor (previously Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Department), and Ali Murtadho, who becomes West Jakarta Deputy Mayor (previously South Jakarta Deputy Mayor).
