Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that Malaysia and Indonesia have agreed to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two countries, as well as to enhance diplomatic efforts to ensure regional stability.

This was conveyed by Anwar after holding a dialogue with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Friday, as per a statement received in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday evening.

“In facing the current global uncertainties, the agreement between Malaysia and Indonesia becomes increasingly important, with both countries agreeing to continue holding hands, strengthening strategic cooperation, and enhancing diplomatic efforts to ensure regional stability and the welfare of the people,” said Anwar Ibrahim.

He hopes that the ties between the two kindred nations will continue to be strengthened to a more solid and dignified level.

Previously, Anwar Ibrahim described the meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as meaningful and opening constructive space in finding common ground in addressing the West Asia conflict.

“A meaningful meeting with President Prabowo today opens constructive space in finding common ground to address the conflict in West Asia that is now pressuring energy security and global economic stability,” said Anwar Ibrahim.

He conveyed that in the increasingly acute global uncertainties, Malaysia and Indonesia affirm the importance of strengthening principled regional solidarity to maintain peace, ensure stability, and bolster economic resilience for the welfare of the people.
