Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that Malaysia will not compromise and will deport or repatriate any Israeli citizens detected entering the country. This was conveyed because Malaysia does not recognise Israel as a state. Anwar Ibrahim said all security agencies are conducting a thorough investigation into the issue of an Israeli citizen detected entering Malaysia, specifically Johor. The Israeli citizen is suspected of utilising dual citizenship documents. “We are investigating. We do not allow it. If there is, action must be taken. Because we do not recognise their (country), they will be immediately deported,” Anwar asserted as reported by BERNAMA in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (15/7). Meanwhile, the Johor State Government has urged the Ministry of Home Affairs and relevant agencies to investigate the operation of a Network School in Forest City, Johor, which was allegedly attended by Israeli citizens. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi stated that the Israeli citizens are strongly suspected of using passports from other countries to enter Malaysia.
