Anwar Ibrahim reminisces about time in detention

Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has reminisced about the periods when he was in detention, during which he could only meet his family through glass partitions and communicate via telephone.

Anwar shared these memories on social-media platforms through photographs taken during his imprisonment.

“Memories of Sungai Buloh. Meeting family behind glass, only via telephone. Moments that remain etched in memory,” Anwar wrote on his social media account, as reported in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

Anwar Ibrahim did not include the specific date the photographs were taken, nor did he explain the underlying purpose of sharing these experiences.

Anwar’s photo post of his time in detention received various responses on his Instagram account, @anwaribrahim_my.

Many users expressed support and sympathy regarding the events. Some also drew connections and comparisons between the post and the current situation of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, who is presently in the process of seeking house arrest leniency.

According to records, Anwar Ibrahim has undergone several periods of detention due to various legal cases involving him.
