Anwar Ibrahim Expresses Condolences, Hails Try Sutrisno as True Statesman
Kuala Lumpur — Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has expressed profound condolences at the passing of Indonesia’s sixth Vice President, Try Sutrisno.
The condolence statement was delivered by Anwar through social media platform Telegram, monitored in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday.
“I am deeply grieved by the passing of Indonesia’s sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno today,” said Anwar.
On behalf of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim conveyed sincere sympathy and condolences to the late statesman’s extended family and the entire Indonesian people.
“I extend my sincere sympathy and condolences to the family of the late Vice President and the whole people of Indonesia who are mourning the loss of a true statesman,” said Anwar.
Indonesia’s sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno passed away at the Central Military Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto in Jakarta on Monday morning at approximately 07:00 Western Indonesia Time.
The late Vice President was buried at the National Heroes Cemetery (TMP) Kalibata, accompanied by military ceremonial proceedings led by President Prabowo Subianto.
Throughout his life, Try Sutrisno received 19 honours in recognition of his dedication and service to the nation and state.
