Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has condemned Israel’s action in once again detaining the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) ship carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza in international waters. “I condemn the violent actions of the Zionist Israeli regime against the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian mission in international waters, which is a clear violation of maritime law and resembles piracy that tarnishes the universal principles of humanity,” said Anwar Ibrahim in his statement in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday. According to information conveyed by Anwar Ibrahim on Telegram, at least 22 GSF ships sailing in the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 mission were detained by Israel while passing through international waters. Six of the 22 ships involved 10 Malaysian nationals. “Their safety must be guaranteed without compromise,” he stressed. He also stated that the Malaysian Government is communicating and working closely with friendly countries to ensure the activists are released immediately. Prime Minister Anwar emphasised that in this critical situation, the values of compassion and humanity must overcome all differences, and Malaysia will continue to stand firm in upholding those principles.
