Antonov, Timor sign deal

AMSTERDAM (Reuters): Gearbox maker Antonov said yesterday it had signed an agreement with Indonesian car manufacturer Timor for the development and installation of a prototype Antonov transmission.

"This new agreement with Timor is directed at its passenger vehicle program. The Antonov prototype is expected to be available to Timor for evaluation in the second half of 1998."

It said interest from car manufacturers has increased considerably in 1997, and with Timor, Antonov now has eight prototype agreements in place.
