Antique dealer's car seized

JAKARTA: An antique dealer filed a police report on Friday after his car was "confiscated" by a middleman in antique sales.

Dedy Rechendi, 47, said the middleman, Munawar, was upset because a big deal he had been setting up failed to materialize.

Dedy alleges that Munawar, angry about losing out on a Rp 100 million (US$11,025) commission, forced him into turning over his car, along with its ownership documents.

The antique dealer says he handed over his car because Munawar threatened him. The 49-year-old middleman also allegedly warned Dedy not to go to the police. --Antara
