Antigraft war, not fuel price hike
Antigraft war, not fuel price hike
From Media Indonesia
If the government is serious in its drive to create clean
governance, enhance its authority and promote public welfare, a
war should be waged on corruption. In this case, the Corruption
Eradication Commission (KPK) should spearhead the antigraft
movement.
The present government should adopt a clear stance, take firm
action and have the courage to uproot corruption. Public welfare
cannot be achieved through raising fuel prices, which will
adversely affect ordinary people.
The antigraft action should be aimed at corrupt government
officials and legislators, such as the forestry authorities in
Kalimantan, who are reportedly facilitating illegal log exports.
The KPK, the prosecutor's office, the police and other
relevant state agencies should join hands in the war against
greed and corruption.
