Antigraft operation on the move

From Kompas

As the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was trying to
escalate its antigraft operation, on May 19 the central boards of
Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah signed a statement giving moral
support to this legal action against corruption.

The next morning, the case of alleged corruption in the
Ministry of Religious Affairs started to be exposed, along with
the detention of chairman of the General Elections Commission in
an earlier case of embezzlement.

In the following days, according to television reports, graft
cases will also be unveiled in other ministries, institutions and
agencies. The anticorruption banner is now again being flown,
which is certainly based on genuine conscience, high courage and
consistency.

Let us appeal to the fearless KPK to carry on its battle and
never retreat. The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) should also examine
the distribution of fuel subsidy funds (for the poor) so that the
struggle for survival of ordinary people will not be rendered
futile by the fuel price increase.
