Anticipating the spread of Hantavirus at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport
On Tuesday, 19 May 2026, a passenger arriving from abroad at Terminal 3 passed through a thermal scanner as part of the airport’s health surveillance measures. PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Branch of Soekarno Hatta International Airport, alongside the Balai Besar Kekarantinaan Kesehatan Soekarno Hatta, installed thermal cameras to monitor travellers’ body temperatures on arrival to anticipate and monitor the spread and transmission of Hantavirus, particularly for passengers from the United States, Argentina, Uruguay, and Panama.
