Anticipating Return Traffic Surge, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Prepares 24-Hour Shuttle Bus Service
TANGERANG - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia has activated a 24-hour shuttle bus service at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to anticipate the passenger surge during the 2026 Lebaran return flow. General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Heru Karyadi, stated that the service is focused on supporting passenger movement in the arrival area. “The Skytrain operates until 23:00 WIB, requiring five hours for daily maintenance,” Heru said in his statement on Tuesday (24/3/2026). During the return flow period, the airport’s service focus shifts to the arrival area, unlike the outbound flow which emphasises departures. Meanwhile, passenger movements during the Lebaran transport period continue to show an increase. Up to H+2 Lebaran, the number of passengers served reached 1,983,067 with 13,184 aircraft movements. “Cumulatively, it grew by 4.7 percent compared to 2025 and 5.6 percent compared to 2019,” he added. With these various anticipatory measures, the airport management ensures operations remain optimal despite the passenger surge during the Lebaran return period.
