Probolinggo City, East Java (ANTARA) - The Probolinggo City Government in East Java has launched the Sarana Advokasi Peningkatan Akuntabilitas Bantuan Operasional Sekolah (SAPA BOS) 2026 programme to prevent criminal acts of corruption and minimise deviations in education funding.

The SAPA BOS event was attended by Mayor Aminuddin along with Deputy Mayor Ina Dwi Lestari, Head of the Probolinggo District Prosecutor’s Office Lilik Setiyawan, Head of the Education and Culture Department Siti Romlah, Head of the Inspectorate Puji Prastowo, as well as hundreds of education stakeholders in the Ballroom Paseban Sena, Probolinggo City, on Wednesday.

“The activity serves as an effort to provide legal certainty to schools, prevent administrative errors, and minimise the potential for deviations and criminal acts of corruption in the management of BOS funds,” said the Head of the Probolinggo City Education and Culture Department, Siti Romlah.

“This is realised through various activities such as BOS consultation clinics, technical guidance on fund management directly targeting schools, and desk evaluations to monitor fund usage from the planning stage to reporting,” she added.

The Head of the Probolinggo Prosecutor’s Office, Lilik Setiyawan, appreciated the city government’s steps in strengthening education governance, noting that the prosecutor’s office plays an important role in both preventive efforts and law enforcement.

“Through supervision and assistance programmes like Jaga, we ensure that BOS funds are used in accordance with regulations. We also provide legal education so that managers are not hesitant in carrying out their duties,” he said.

He mentioned that through the Civil and State Administrative Affairs Division (Datun), the prosecutor’s office acts as state advocate prosecutors to provide legal assistance, legal opinions, and legal services to government agencies.

“We are ready to assist schools so that the management of BOS funds runs orderly, transparently, and avoids the risk of deviations,” he said.

Meanwhile, Probolinggo Mayor Aminuddin emphasised the importance of managing BOS funds as a strategic instrument in improving education quality.

“BOS funds are an important foundation in supporting teaching and learning activities and improving education quality. Therefore, their management must be accurate, honest, and in accordance with regulations,” he said.

He also highlighted the importance of improving school facilities and infrastructure, including basic facilities like sanitation that still need attention in several schools in Probolinggo City.

“I invite all parties to jointly enhance human resources to welcome the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045,” he stated.

Through SAPA BOS, he continued, his side is building strong communication between schools, the prosecutor’s office, and the inspectorate, with the hope that BOS funds are truly on target and provide real impact for improving education quality.

The SAPA BOS programme is also expected to serve as a momentum to strengthen integrity and education governance in Probolinggo City. With synergy from all parties, BOS funds are hoped to create a safe, comfortable, and quality school environment, in line with the regional development vision towards Probolinggo as a Clean and Tidy City.
