The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) has conducted a security and contingency simulation for ‘Ops Mandalika Rinjani 2026’ to ensure the success of the Grand Prix of Indonesia, or MotoGP, which will take place at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, from 9–11 October.

The activity involved 2,678 personnel from the National Police, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Civil Service Police Unit (Pol PP), Department of Transportation, Basarnas (National Search and Rescue Agency), and several other parties. During the event, officers simulated various scenarios, including spectator inspections, demonstrations, VIP guest security, and bomb explosion prevention.

“Today, 28 September 2026, we are conducting the security simulation for Operation Mandalika Rinjani 2026. This implementation is part of the security measures for the operation scheduled for 9–11 October,” said the Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Police, Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja, following the simulation at the VIP parking area of the Mandalika Circuit on Monday (28/9/2026).

Kalingga explained that this simulation serves as the peak of the training exercises previously conducted by the officers. He stated that these measures are in place to ensure that MotoGP Mandalika 2026 proceeds safely and smoothly.

“Including today, this is a Mandalika contingency operation. We are securing against various risks should any unwanted incidents occur. Polda, Kodam 1/Udayana, and related agencies are ready to carry out security activities for MotoGP 2026,” he added.

According to him, the security for MotoGP will not only involve personnel from the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police but will also involve the National Police Headquarters to manage specific threats, such as illegal drone flights that could cause aerial disturbances.

“Everything is covered, including support from the National Police Headquarters and the Indonesian Air Force,” he emphasised.

At the same event, the Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, Troy Reza Warokka, stated that this security and contingency simulation was conducted to ensure the smooth running of MotoGP 2026. After observing today’s exercises, he expressed confidence that the world’s most prestigious motorcycle racing event would be a success.

“Essentially, today’s activity reaffirms the readiness of ITDC along with all MotoGP security stakeholders to make the Mandalika Grand Prix the best in the world,” said Troy.

He noted that the success of MotoGP Mandalika would not only benefit ITDC but would also bring honour to the nation of Indonesia on the global stage.

“This is not just the duty of the police, but it is our collective responsibility to ensure the success of MotoGP,” Troy concluded.
