Anti-LGBT Declaration Signed on Kilometre-Long White Cloth in Padang

Residents signed a white cloth during an anti-LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) campaign and declaration in Padang, West Sumatra, on Sunday (21/6/2026). The West Sumatra Provincial Government, the West Sumatra Regional Police, and the Minangkabau Customary Institution (LKAAM) called on the entire community to participate in the anti-LGBT declaration by signing a white cloth stretching one kilometre in length. The parties committed to taking action against offenders under customary law and to eradicating or expelling them from Minangkabau land. Bundo Kanduang members marched carrying banners during the campaign. Padang Mayor Fadly Amran also signed the white cloth at the event.
