Anti-Corruption Unit Seizes Land Worth Rp 4.8 Trillion in Bali Over State Asset Encroachment Case

The Indonesian National Police’s Anti-Corruption Unit (Kortas Tipakor) has seized 23 hectares of land in the Ungasan area, Badung Regency, Bali. The seizure is related to an ongoing investigation into the alleged encroachment of state assets.

According to calculations by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), the value of the asset reached Rp 2.2 trillion up until 2024. This year, the estimated value has surged to approximately Rp 4.8 trillion.

“Because it is located in a tourism area with potential for tourism development as well as modern residential use, the value of the asset can reach around Rp 4.8 trillion,” stated Brigadier General Indra Lutrianto, Director of Asset Tracing and Security (P2A) of Kortas Tipikor Polri, as reported by detikBali on Saturday (19/09/2026).

The multi-trillion rupiah land has been controlled by PT Marga Srikaton Dwipratama (MSD) since 2014. This control originated from an asset exchange process that has remained unresolved to this day.

PT MSD reportedly won an auction to control the land. As compensation, the company was obligated to construct the BPN (National Land Agency) Bali building. However, the construction of said building has failed to materialise.

By 2022, the Right to Use Certificate (Sertifikat Hak Pakai) for the land was transferred from the BPN Bali Regional Office to the Ministry of ATR/BPN. Meanwhile, PT MSD continued to occupy the land by installing fences, signage, and security posts.

The case is currently under investigation by the Kortas Tipikor Polri investigators. No suspects have been officially named at this stage.
