Anti-Corruption Expert Reveals IDR 570 Million from Extortion of Foreign Worker Permit Fees Used to Buy Coldplay Tickets
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Funds obtained through the extortion of fees related to the processing of Foreign Worker Employment Plan (RPTKA) permits at the Ministry of Manpower, amounting to IDR 570 million, were used to purchase Coldplay concert tickets.
This was revealed when the KPK’s Forensic Accounting Expert, Miftah Aulani Rahman, read out the results of the examination and identification of the accounts controlled by the defendant and Ministry of Manpower staff, Putri Citra Wahyoe (PCW).
“Lastly, it was used to buy Coldplay concert tickets. This is not only based on PCW’s testimony and that of other parties, but also on the debit transactions recorded in the account, Your Honor,” said Miftah during the hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday (February 26, 2026).
During the hearing, Miftah did not specify the price of the concert tickets in Putri’s account.
The concert tickets were reportedly for employees of the RPTKA. During the hearing, it was mentioned that Putri controlled several accounts to collect funds obtained through the extortion of RPTKA fees.
The total amount of money deposited into Putri’s accounts reached IDR 29.9 billion. However, IDR 23.69 billion of this was used for Putri’s personal expenses and for other parties.
“The total amount of money paid to employees of the PPTKA on a bi-weekly basis was IDR 11.4 billion,” said Miftah.
Furthermore, the amount spent on employee meals during the periods of 2018-2019 and 2023-2024 reached IDR 1.7 billion. There was also an additional IDR 1.3 billion spent on employee meals during the period of 2020-2022.
In a separate record, there was also an additional IDR 733 million allocated for overtime pay for verifiers.
Then, there was an amount of IDR 5.8 billion allocated for the expenses of the Director General of Binapenta at the Ministry of Manpower for the period of 2024-2025, as well as for the Special Staff of the Minister of Manpower, Haryanto.
And, an amount of IDR 782 million was allocated for the expenses of the Director of Control of Foreign Worker Employment (PPTKA) at the Ministry of Manpower for the period of 2017-2019, Wisnu Pramono.
Meanwhile, Putri herself received IDR 6.3 billion. However, this money did not all come from the accounts she controlled, but also from other accounts.
“According to our calculations, the total amount that Putri benefited from for her personal expenses was IDR 6.3 billion,” Miftah added.
