Anti-Corruption Commission suspects Pati regent influenced projects through campaign team
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that Sudewo (SDW), while serving as Regent of Pati, influenced a number of projects in Pati Regency, Central Java, through the “Team of Eight”, which was his campaign team. “It is suspected that the Team of Eight, on the orders of Mr. SDW, engaged in influencing these projects,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (24 February). Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK confirmed that it had conducted a sting operation in Pati Regency and arrested the Regent of Pati, Sudewo. On 20 January 2026, the KPK brought Sudewo, along with seven other individuals, to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta. On the same date, the KPK announced four suspects in the case of alleged corruption related to extortion in the filling of village official positions within the Pati Regency Government. They are the Regent of Pati, Sudewo (SDW); the Head of Karangrowo Village, Jakenan District, Abdul Suyono (YON); the Head of Arumanis Village, Jaken District, Sumarjiono (JION); and the Head of Sukorukun Village, Jaken District, Karjan (JAN). In addition, the KPK announced that Sudewo is a suspect in the case of alleged bribery related to the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
