The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has secured cash evidence during a covert arrest operation (OTT) involving Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman.

“Evidence secured during this arrest operation includes cash,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists at the KPK Red and White Building on Friday (13 March).

However, Budi was unable to provide further details on the amount of cash seized.

“As for the amount, we will provide an update later. This is still ongoing, and the team is still in the field conducting initial inspections,” said Budi.

Previously, Budi revealed that the KPK has detained 27 individuals, including Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman, in this operation.

“It is true that today the KPK conducted a closed investigation in Cilacap District. The team secured a total of 27 individuals, one of whom is the Cilacap Regent,” said Budi.

Budi also noted that the 27 individuals consist of state officials, civil servants, and possibly some private sector representatives.

“State officials, civil servants, and possibly some from the private sector,” said Budi.

The KPK’s covert arrest operation targeting Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman was previously confirmed by KPK Deputy Chairperson Fitroh Rohcahyanto.

“Yes, that’s correct,” Fitroh said briefly when asked to confirm the Cilacap Regent’s arrest operation.

The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested in the operation.
