Cilacap (ANTARA) – Investigators from the Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) have sealed two offices at the Cilacap Regional Secretariat complex in Central Java, following a dawn raid operation conducted in the region.

According to information gathered by ANTARA in Cilacap on Friday evening, the two sealed offices are those of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) and the Assistant Regional Secretary, located in the Cilacap Regional Secretariat complex.

The sealing was carried out by placing official seal tape across the doors of both offices.

As of Friday afternoon (13 March), the offices remained inaccessible to staff as they continued to be handled by KPK investigators.

In addition to sealing the offices, KPK investigators also apprehended several individuals during the dawn raid operation conducted in the Cilacap region.

During the operation, Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman, along with a number of other government officials from Cilacap Regency, were brought by KPK investigators to the Central Police Resort (Polresta) Banyumas headquarters in Purwokerto for preliminary examination.

Following the completion of the dawn raid, the atmosphere at the Cilacap Regional Secretariat complex appeared deserted, and by approximately 17:00 local time, the entrance gate to the office complex was observed to be closed.

Previously, the KPK revealed that the dawn raid operation, which apprehended Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and 26 others, was related to alleged bribery connected to projects in Cilacap Regency.

“There are allegations of money received by the Regent in connection with projects in Cilacap Regency, Central Java,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at KPK headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (13 March).

Prasetyo stated that the KPK is currently examining Cilacap Regent and 26 others before determining their legal status.

The KPK has 1 × 24 hours to determine the status of those apprehended in the dawn raid, including the Cilacap Regent who is a regional head in Central Java Province, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
