Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has announced an auction of seized assets belonging to corruption convicts. The KPK raised a total of Rp 10.9 billion from the auction, which will be deposited into the state treasury.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the auction was conducted on Wednesday, 11 March. He noted that of the 26 lots auctioned, 15 were successfully sold with bids from more than 350 participants overall.

“The lots successfully sold comprised 11 moveable assets including vehicles, motorcycles, electronic equipment, and various other items. Additionally, four immoveable property lots were sold, consisting of land and buildings. The total value of auctioned items in the March 2026 period reached Rp 10.9 billion,” Budi told reporters on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Budi explained that the auction proceeds will be deposited into the state treasury as part of efforts to optimise asset recovery. He also noted that the public showed enthusiasm for the KPK’s auction.

On another note, he stated that the KPK believes the high level of public enthusiasm towards the auction was influenced by the condition of the assets. This is because, he said, the KPK maintains seized and confiscated items optimally at the KPK’s Seized and Confiscated Item Storage House (Rupbasan) in Cawang, East Jakarta.

“This maintenance is carried out from the moment the items are first seized until they achieve final legal status. Subsequently, the items can be returned to the state through the auction mechanism,” Budi explained.

Budi noted that the KPK is also preparing the next phase of auctions. Plans are in place for the KPK to conduct another auction in June 2026.

On another matter, Budi mentioned that in 2025, the KPK achieved its largest results in the past five years of auction operations. At that time, he said, the KPK earned Rp 109.8 billion from the sale of confiscated items.

“This amount contributed to the KPK’s total asset recovery in 2025, which reached Rp 1.53 trillion, sourced from auction mechanisms, donations, Determination of Usage Status (PSP), fine payments, and compensation funds,” he clarified.

He also stated that the entire auction process is conducted transparently through the official lelang.go.id platform in cooperation with the State Asset and Debt Management Agency (KPKNL). This is done to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and compliance with applicable regulations.
