Anti-Corruption Commission Prohibits Official Vehicles from Being Used for Eid Holidays
JAKARTA — The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has emphasised that official vehicles must not be used for personal purposes, including travelling home for Eid holidays or family trips.
This stipulation is outlined in Circular Letter Number 2 of 2026 concerning the Control and Prevention of Gratuity During Religious Holidays.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that official vehicles constitute state assets whose use must be in accordance with official duties.
He explained that the official vehicles in question encompass all operational assets, ranging from State-Owned Goods (BMN), Regionally-Owned Goods (BMD), to leased vehicles used by government institutions.
According to him, the use of official vehicles outside official purposes is not merely an administrative violation, but also has the potential to create broader problems.
“However, it also has the potential to create conflicts of interest and undermine the principle of accountability in the management of state assets,” Budi said.
The KPK has also requested the leadership of ministries, institutions, and regional governments to strengthen internal oversight, particularly during the extended Eid holiday period.
Furthermore, strengthening internal control systems and compliance with regulations on the use of state assets form part of efforts to maintain public trust and ensure that government governance operates cleanly and with integrity.
Additionally, the KPK has also provided channels for complaints or reporting related to gratuity allegations and corruption prevention through the website https://jaga.id, consultation via WhatsApp number +62811145575 or contacting the KPK’s Public Information Service at telephone number 198.
