REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) is monitoring reports regarding the procurement of a vehicle for the Governor of East Kalimantan, Rudy Mas’ud, which has gone viral and attracted public attention due to its alleged cost of IDR 8.5 billion. The KPK welcomes the public to report any indications of violations.

“If there are suspicions of irregularities in the procurement of goods and services, or the use of official vehicles, please report them to the KPK,” said KPK Spokesperson, Budi Prasetyo, when confirmed on Thursday (February 26, 2026).

The KPK observes that the procurement of goods and services can be a gateway for corrupt practices. Therefore, the KPK warns the East Kalimantan Provincial Government to avoid practices such as bid rigging, price inflation, or lowering product specifications.

“We are monitoring the mechanisms to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the rules,” said Budi.

The KPK emphasizes the importance of the planning stage in the budgeting process of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. This will ensure that public funds are spent for the benefit of the community. “Including the needs, which must be truly appropriate. Don’t have a need for A, but spend on B,” said Budi.

Previously, the new official vehicle for the Governor of East Kalimantan, Rudy Mas’ud, which is valued at a fantastic IDR 8.5 billion, has sparked controversy.
