Jakarta – Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has brought the Regent of Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu Province, Muhammad Fikri Thobari and several other individuals to Jakarta following their detention in a sting operation (OTT) in Bengkulu on Monday evening, 9 March 2026.

“A number of individuals have been secured and brought to Jakarta this morning for further investigation. One of them is the Regent of Rejang Lebong,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

The KPK had arrested Fikri during the sting operation on Monday evening.

“Yes, the Regent of Rejang Lebong,” confirmed KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when reached by Kompas.com on Tuesday morning.

He has not yet disclosed the evidence seized or the nature of the charges against the Regent of Rejang Lebong and associates.

The KPK has 24 hours from the time of arrest to determine the legal status of the individuals detained in this sting operation.
