Anti-Corruption Commission Arrests Multiple Individuals in Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested multiple individuals during a simultaneous operation against Rejang Lebong District Head Muhammad Fikri Thobari in Bengkulu Province.

“We can confirm that the team conducted confidential investigative activities in the Bengkulu region,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Tuesday, 10 March.

The operation commenced on Monday evening, 9 March. Several workspaces within the Rejang Lebong District Government offices were sealed.

“Multiple individuals were apprehended and brought to Jakarta this morning for further investigation. One of them is the Rejang Lebong District Head,” Budi stated.

Upon arrival at the Red-White Building, the KPK headquarters in South Jakarta, the Rejang Lebong District Head and colleagues will undergo further questioning.

The anti-corruption agency has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested in the operation.
