Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI), Anthony Leong, has officially taken the registration form for candidacy as General Chairman of BPP HIPMI as part of the preparations for the 18th National Conference (Munas) of HIPMI in June. Anthony, in his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, said that this moment of collecting the form is not merely an administrative step, but also an opportunity to convey ideas regarding the strengthening of HIPMI’s role as a driver of the national economy that aligns with Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. “For me, HIPMI is not just an organisation, but it must become part of the implementation of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, where the economy is built as a joint effort for the prosperity of the people,” Anthony stated. However, the main challenge faced is the inequality of access to markets, financing, and business networks. “We have millions of business actors, but not all have equal access to grow. This is where HIPMI must be present, opening access, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring that more entrepreneurs can level up,” he said. Anthony assessed that the spirit of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, which emphasises the principles of togetherness and economic justice, remains relevant in the current economic dynamics. Therefore, HIPMI’s role is crucial in bridging the interests of entrepreneurs with the direction of national development. “Article 33 is not just constitutional text, but the direction of the nation’s economy. HIPMI must become a space for joint business, where young entrepreneurs do not walk alone, but strengthen each other, grow, and advance together,” he said. Furthermore, Anthony highlighted the importance of encouraging young entrepreneurs to enter strategic sectors, such as energy, food, and industry, to strengthen Indonesia’s economic sovereignty. “Going forward, young entrepreneurs should not only be present in the consumption sector, but must also enter strategic sectors that determine the nation’s future. This is part of our responsibility as economic actors,” he stated. On that occasion, Anthony invited all HIPMI members to make this organisation a collective force in building a more inclusive and just national economy. “This is not about one person, but about a collective movement. HIPMI must become an economic driver that brings real impact for young entrepreneurs and the wider community,” he said.
