Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Lembaga Kantor Berita Nasional (LKBN) ANTARA has received two awards from Perum Bulog: best media and first place in the category of the most prolific news writer. The awards were presented at the Award Ceremony and Thanksgiving Event for the 59th Anniversary of Perum Bulog, held in Jakarta on Monday. ANTARA’s President Director, Benny Siga Butarbutar, who received the best media award directly, stated that the recognition serves as proof that the role of the media is valued and appreciated amid increasingly intense media fragmentation. According to him, despite growing competition from media outlets and various digital platforms, mainstream media remains a key reference for news reporting. “This shows that mainstream, primary stream media still serves as a reference,” he said. He added that the award from Perum Bulog also indicates increasingly close cooperation between LKBN ANTARA and Bulog. Furthermore, the award is seen as evidence that news reporting is considered important in building and strengthening government programmes. The first place in the Most Prolific News Writer category was won by Muhammad Harianto. Further, Director Benny stated that regarding the government’s efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency, ANTARA views the media’s role as one of amplifying food policies to disseminate them maximally to all corners of Indonesia and abroad. According to him, food issues are no longer just a domestic concern but have also become a matter of international attention. He added that Bulog’s ability to build rice reserves exceeding 5 million tonnes is proof of the government’s success in maintaining national food stability.
