ANTARA ready to promote Penglipuran as a model for national tourism villages
The success of Penglipuran needs to be introduced more widely so that it can become an example for other tourism villages in developing community-based tourism.
Perum LKBN ANTARA is ready to support the development of Penglipuran Tourism Village through promotion and strengthening public communication, making it an inspiration for tourism village development in various regions of Indonesia.
ANTARA’s President Director, Benny Siga Butarbutar, said in Penglipuran, Bangli Regency, Bali, on Thursday that Penglipuran Tourism Village has proven itself as a world-class destination through various accolades, including being named one of the world’s best tourism villages and the cleanest village.
According to him, Penglipuran’s success needs to be introduced more widely so that it can become an example for other tourism villages in developing community-based tourism. “What we need to help with here is how Panglipuran Tourism Village can become an example for other tourism villages, so that its success and advantages can also be practised,” he said.
Benny assessed that Penglipuran’s main strength lies in the role of the local community, who remain the primary managers by preserving customs, traditions, and culture as the foundation of tourism development. He added that the Penglipuran community is not merely an object of tourism but has transformed into active subjects who create various tourism packages and experiences for visitors.
To support this development, ANTARA will take on three main roles. First, promoting the various advantages of Penglipuran Tourism Village so that it becomes a reference for other tourism villages in Indonesia. Second, expanding the publication of government policies in the tourism and creative economy sectors to inspire other regions with similar potential. Third, ANTARA is ready to help build effective communication strategies to strengthen Penglipuran’s identity as a leading tourism village while reinforcing Bali’s image as a world tourism destination.
Benny noted that every village in Indonesia has different characteristics and advantages, so appropriate publication will encourage the emergence of more quality tourism villages. “Thus, ANTARA becomes an inseparable part of the development of a tourism village that will provide strength for sustainable development,” he said. He expressed hope that the synergy between ANTARA, the government, and the community can strengthen the national tourism village ecosystem and encourage sustainable tourism development based on local wisdom.
