Jakarta (ANTARA) - Benny Siga Butar Butar, President Director of the Indonesian National News Agency (LKBN) ANTARA, believes character formation is the main foundation for producing quality content creators.

“Training character is best started through training and building togetherness, strength of mind and competence, and learning to create content. This is an era in which truth has shifted, so we see the world not only through truth but also perception,” said Benny at the opening of the Content Creator Bootcamp at the ANTARA Heritage Center (AHC) in Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, on Thursday.

According to Benny, character and knowledge running hand in hand can exert a positive influence amid the torrent of digital information.

“An understanding of knowledge and attention must be built; knowledge that sees goodness can produce good things, whereas a negative mind will never produce a positive influence,” Benny said.

Benny noted that the world has changed, with society now facing not only truth (facts) but also perceptions shaped through digital platforms.

“An understanding, knowledge and attention must be built. Knowledge that sees goodness can produce good things, whereas a negative mind will never produce influence,” he said.

Benny set out three main indicators for measuring the success of bootcamp participants: productivity, quality of work and the impact delivered to society.

He explained that participants would be evaluated not only during the training itself but also through the works they produce after receiving the various materials and mentoring.

“As with any other bootcamp, they will be measured by their ability to produce work. The first is quantity — how many works they produce,” said Benny.

According to Benny, participants who are active in producing work have broader insight than those who are less productive.

“If they are lazy, it will show that their abilities are not strong enough, because a productive person is someone with wide-ranging insight,” he said.

Beyond productivity, ANTARA will also assess the quality of each piece of work produced by participants.

Benny explained that quality would be judged by whether a participant’s work is fit to serve as informative, accurate journalistic work capable of exerting a positive influence on society.

The impact of a work can indeed be seen through audience engagement and follower growth, but these are not the only measures of success.

Benny expressed hope that bootcamp participants would not only become productive content creators but also produce quality, ethical works that can inspire the public and deliver a positive impact on Indonesia’s digital space.

The two-day event, running from 30 to 31 July 2026, is a collaboration between the ANTARA Education Institute (LPA) and a number of partners, including the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), state food logistics firm BULOG, insurance firm PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo) and Tempo.

The 20 participants, aged between 17 and 20, will be equipped with a range of technical skills needed to become professional content creators, from determining angles and choosing themes to developing concepts and crafting delivery styles suited to their individual characters.
