Antara Heritage Center provides space for cross-cultural exchange between nations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Acting Corporate Secretary of ANTARA News Agency Sella Panduarsa Gareta said that the Antara Heritage Center (AHC) provides a space to facilitate cultural exchange between nations and countries. “The Antara Heritage Center is not just an office. We are also a shared space for exchanging culture, for getting to know the culture of various countries,” she said on the sidelines of the “K-Movie Screening” event at AHC, Central Jakarta, Saturday. “Hopefully in the future we will be able to get to know more and establish strong relationships with other countries through culture, cultural exchange,” said Sella.
The film screening event titled “K-Movie Screening” was organised by the ANTARA Education Institute (LPA) in cooperation with the Korean Cultural Center Indonesia (KCCI). “K-Movie Screening” is part of a photo exhibition titled “My Wish, Our Wish: Road to Freedom” held by the two institutions from 12 to 31 August 2026.
Acting Manager of the ANTARA Education Institute Indriani said that the “K-Movie Screening” event included two film screening sessions and was attended by around 100 people. The first film screened at the event was titled “The General’s Son”, released in 1990. “This film was chosen by KCCI because it fits the theme of this exhibition, which is related to one of their national heroes, Kim Koo. So the issue is indeed related to the struggle, part of Korea’s independence struggle,” said Indriani.
In addition to watching the film and the “My Wish, Our Wish: Road to Freedom” photo exhibition, participants of the film screening event could try wearing traditional Korean clothing called hanbok. “In addition, there is also access to making Korean calligraphy. Coloured pencils and paper are also provided,” said Indriani.
Residents who wish to try wearing hanbok or making Korean calligraphy for free can visit the AHC gallery on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10.00 to 17.00 WIB during the “My Wish, Our Wish: Road to Freedom” exhibition.
