ANTARA Elevates Diversity Narrative Through Photo Exhibition Titled Ursyalim
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The President Director of LKBN ANTARA, Benny Siga Butarbutar, said that the desire to highlight a narrative of diversity was a strategic consideration behind the special assignment of photojournalist Muhammad Adimaja to Jerusalem, Palestine in February 2026.
“Every good work, every work worthy of being shown in the name of ANTARA, ANTARA must help to support,” said Benny Siga Butarbutar at the opening of a photography exhibition titled ‘Ursyalim’ at the ANTARA Heritage Center Museum in Jakarta on Friday evening.
Benny Siga Butarbutar explained that Perum LKBN ANTARA has a major mission to provide information that serves as a bridge of humanity.
This direct assignment aims to capture social realities in a balanced and holistic manner, free from political bias.
ANTARA, he said, also uses the ANTARA Heritage Center Museum space in Pasar Baru, Jakarta as a concrete public venue to display the photojournalistic works.
This historical photo gallery has opened as a home for collective memory to connect people with cross-border values of peace.
Benny said that high-quality journalistic works like this are sure to continue to receive full support and advocacy because they are closely tied to LKBN ANTARA’s global identity.
Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Abdalfatah A.K. Alsattari, who attended the event, highly praised the cultural journalism initiative organised by LKBN ANTARA.
The Palestinian ambassador said that photographic media is highly effective in presenting the real face of Palestine, a history of tolerance.
The display of around 100 visual documents at the ANTARA Heritage Center is expected to strengthen tangible bonds of solidarity between the two nations’ communities.
The general public can visit this documentary photography exhibition free of charge in the Pasar Baru area.
The organisers are opening the exhibition space to the public from 22 May to 29 May 2026.
