ANTARA CEO highlights the importance of AI's role in financial governance

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chief Executive of Perum LKBN ANTARA, Benny Siga Butarbutar, views the presence of artificial intelligence (AI) as increasingly crucial in strengthening financial governance, particularly to enhance transparency and decision-making amid global complexity and uncertainty. This was stated by Benny, in line with the theme of the seminar and discussion titled “Future Ready Financial: Navigating Treasury, Payments and Risk in the AI Era 2026”, organised in collaboration with FIS Global at the ANTARA Heritage Center (AHC), Jakarta, on Wednesday. “AI can help with the most difficult aspects, namely in the processes of governance, transparency, and decision-making,” said Benny when met after the seminar. Benny added that the implementation of AI in financial governance is a necessity because every organisation and corporation requires a strong, healthy, and transparent financial sector. This, he further explained, is also in line with the standards, demands for transparency, and governance needed to maintain long-term business sustainability. The momentum of the seminar and discussion with FIS Global is considered strategic as it encourages increased capacity and new understanding for companies in facing global dynamics. Benny stated that global dynamics make financial issues increasingly crucial along with globalisation that brings ongoing uncertainty and complexity. In addition, according to Benny, the seminar and discussion with FIS Global is also crucial because it drives a change in the role of finance from initially focusing on cash inflows and outflows (cashflow) to being oriented towards business sustainability, namely in maintaining and optimising long-term business health.
