ANTARA and Henan Delegation Explore Media Cooperation and AI Utilisation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The ANTARA News Agency and a delegation from Henan Province, China, are exploring media cooperation encompassing journalistic collaboration, cultural content, digital transformation, and the utilisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in news production.
“We can provide foreign, international, and global perspectives to Indonesia. We can also learn a great deal from China so that we may have the same opportunities,” said Benny Siga Butarbutar, President Director of LKBN ANTARA, while receiving the Henan delegation at the ANTARA Heritage Centre, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
He noted that cooperation with China presents an opportunity to study their industrial developments, thereby opening possibilities for Indonesia to achieve similar progress.
Furthermore, Benny stated that international partnerships are essential for news agencies to fulfil their core functions, including presenting foreign and global perspectives to the Indonesian public, particularly regarding recent developments in Henan.
Benny remarked that the visit from the Henan delegation was significant as it included various sectors, such as media, business actors, and officials from the provincial Department of Foreign Cooperation, demonstrating their serious intent to build comprehensive global cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Henan delegation offered several forms of cooperation, including cross-border content-sharing channels, participation in cultural civilisation development platforms, the digitalisation of news reporting, and youth journalist exchange programmes between the two nations.
Wang Song, a member of the Henan Provincial PKT Standing Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department, representing the Henan delegation, stated that both parties could engage in joint reporting and periodic content production.
“By focusing on the key cooperation projects of both parties, as well as cultural and tourism exchanges, so that the people on both sides can gain accurate and comprehensive insights,” said Wang Song.
Wang Song mentioned that their media outlets have developed virtual reality technology and artificial intelligence to support news production.
“We hope to share experiences, learn from one another, and discover new methods in journalism and communication,” he added.
