Antam Warns of Risks in Gold Jastip Services: Not Recommended!
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The phenomenon of jasa titip (jastip) services for PT Aneka Tambang Tbk’s gold products is increasingly prevalent amid high public interest in precious metals. Long queues at official boutiques, particularly when small-gramme stocks are available, have led some people to opt for entrusting purchases to others willing to queue. However, behind this trend, Antam has firmly warned the public to exercise caution and avoid using jastip services for gold purchases. Antam’s Corporate Secretary, Wisnu Danandi, stated that the company does not recommend jastip practices due to the various risks they pose to consumers. “ANTAM firmly does not recommend and does not support the purchase of precious metal products through jastip,” Wisnu said in a written statement to Kompas.com on Tuesday (22/4/2026). “Transactions via jastip carry the potential for various risks, including unfair prices, uncertainty over product authenticity, and the absence of official transaction guarantees from ANTAM,” he added. Antam emphasises that gold purchases should be made directly through the company’s official channels to ensure security and product authenticity. In its statement, Antam noted that it provides various purchase channels accessible to the public without relying on third parties. Purchases can be made online via the official logammulia.com website, with options for home delivery or collection at boutiques. Additionally, the public can visit Antam gold boutiques directly, which now operate a hybrid queuing system combining online and walk-in queues. Furthermore, Antam offers services through its official BRANKAS app, enabling digital physical gold transactions from purchase to physical printing. Antam gold products are also available on various official marketplaces such as Shopee, Tokopedia, Blibli, Lazada, Livin’ Sukha, and TikTok Shop. “With these various channels, the public can still conduct transactions securely, conveniently, and officially without relying on third parties,” Wisnu said. Antam also continues to regulate distribution and impose purchase limits to ensure fair access for all consumers. “We urge the public not to use jastip services or unofficial intermediaries for ANTAM gold purchases, and to always ensure transactions are conducted through official channels to avoid potentially harmful risks,” he added. Kiki (25), a resident of East Jakarta, is one of the jastip practitioners who has experienced the situation firsthand. She began offering jastip services in early 2025 after noticing many people wanted to buy Antam gold but lacked time to queue. Queues at gold boutiques often swell from the morning, especially when small-gramme stocks are available. Arriving late significantly reduces the chances of obtaining the items. “When it’s busy, we have to arrive very early. If you come in the afternoon, it’s usually sold out, especially the small grammes,” she said.
