PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) is targeting gold production from the Pongkor mine to reach 935 kilograms in 2026, in accordance with the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) approved by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). This target represents an increase compared to the 2025 gold production realisation of 743 kilograms. Antam’s President Director, Untung Budiharto, stated that the 2026 production target has been set prudently and aligns with the government-approved RKAB. “We can convey that the 2026 production outlook is in accordance with the 2026 RKAB, where Antam has set a prudent production target aligned with the RKAB,” said Untung during a Working Meeting with Commission VII of the House of Representatives, on Monday (13/4/2026). In addition to gold, Antam has set production targets for other commodities, namely around 16 million wet metric tons (wmt) of nickel ore. For bauxite, the target is around 4.6 million wmt, an increase from the 2025 realisation of 2.8 million wmt. “This target reflects efforts to maintain production stability while supporting national downstreaming needs,” said Untung. Furthermore, Untung explained that in its implementation, Antam is carrying out downstreaming on three main commodities. For nickel, the company is developing an integrated electric vehicle battery ecosystem. “Starting from ore mining, processing through RKEF and HPAL facilities, to the development of battery materials such as precursor, cathode, and battery cells,” he said.
