PT Antam Tbk has again participated in a joint homebound travel initiative with the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BUMN) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), transporting 500 homebound travellers to their home villages. Through this annual event, Antam has reaffirmed its commitment to helping the public celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah in their hometowns.

Antam Chief Executive Officer Untung Budiharto stated that this free joint homebound travel initiative was implemented with the goal of providing comfort to those travelling home and helping minimise the risk of traffic accidents.

“This series of free joint homebound travel conducted together with BUMN and ESDM has been carried out routinely by Antam to help people who wish to return to their villages. We hope this initiative will also help reduce the flow of homebound vehicles whilst ensuring comfort and safety as we welcome the Eid al-Fitr celebration with family in our hometowns,” Untung said in an official statement on Tuesday (17 March).

This year, the dispatch of homebound travel participants was conducted simultaneously at three locations in Jakarta. Antam sent off 250 participants of the BUMN Joint Homebound Travel at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium and Antam’s Jakarta headquarters. Five buses were deployed to transport travellers heading to Yogyakarta, Malang, and Wonogiri. For the ESDM Joint Homebound Travel series, Antam provided five buses to transport travellers heading to Magetan, Kendal, and Malang.

“Homebound travel is an Eid al-Fitr tradition carried out as an expression of kinship and strengthening family bonds. Antam’s participation in the joint homebound travel initiative is a manifestation of the company’s harmony with society, enabling them to experience the family moment of Eid al-Fitr in their hometowns. We hope that through this synergy, we can bring happiness to the people who participate,” Untung added.

The BUMN and ESDM Joint Homebound Travel organised by Antam is one implementation of the company’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility. This also demonstrates the company’s concrete action to continue maintaining harmony with society as they welcome the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah celebration.
